About the couple

Some love stories arrive quietly, without fireworks or grand entrances—just two people showing up for each other, over and over. Veronique and Jeffrey’s started that way, on a casual walk in Valkenburg back in 2020. The plan? A quick two-hour stroll. Reality? Four hours, endless conversation, and an abrupt ending only because the parking meter was about to betray them. Somewhere between step one and step… well, several thousand, Jeffrey knew there was something different here.

From that day on, life wove them together in a way that felt steady, genuine, and deeply intentional. Over the years, they’ve navigated highs, lows, and everything in between—always rooted in trust, shared faith, and a quiet knowing that they were building something lasting.

When Jeffrey decided to propose, he carried the ring around like a secret mission—waiting for the perfect cinematic moment in Groningen or Schiermonnikoog. But life, as it does, kept throwing in its own script changes. In the end, the proposal happened in the simplest way possible: just the two of them, at home, where he asked, and she said yes. No audience, no stage lights—just the real stuff that makes a marriage.

Their Curaçao wedding weekend became a joyful collision of their two worlds: the families and friends who’ve stood by them, the traditions they hold dear, and the island that will forever be part of Veronique’s heart. It was warm, it was intentional, and yes—it was a whole lot of fun.

About the planning

Planning Veronique and Jeffrey’s wedding was like choreographing a dance—except the dance had multiple locations, two wardrobe changes, a live soundtrack, and a dash of island magic.

We started bright and early with hair and makeup for the bridal party, then headed straight into Curaçao tradition: the legal ceremony at Kranshi, our historic courthouse in Willemstad. While Veronique got ready, we were already in planner mode—florals arriving, timelines humming, drivers on standby—because if there’s one thing a wedding day doesn’t do, it’s slow down.

After officially becoming Mr. and Mrs., the couple made a quick detour to Queen Emma Bridge (locals call her “The Swinging Old Lady”) for portraits on the iconic floating bridge that connects Punda and Otrobanda. Then it was back for a quick lunch before round two of hair and makeup to get wedding-ready… again.

The religious ceremony unfolded at Misa di Suffisant, a Portuguese-inspired Catholic church painted in soft blues and whites. We kept décor minimal here—just a whisper of their wedding palette—letting the church’s historic charm shine.

Finding the reception venue was a mission in itself. The couple wanted something warm and full of character—not the beach, but somewhere with old soul and island charm. Villa Fiesta checked every box. We leaned into their relaxed, bohemian style with wooden furniture, pampas grass, and warm orange tones that popped beautifully against the venue’s deep blue walls, all bathed in golden light.

And the reception? A masterclass in how to make a wedding feel personal and fun. Cocktail tables, lounge areas, swings (yes, swings), and a mix of long and round tables gave the evening an easy flow. Local food stations celebrated both their heritages, while the entertainment lineup was pure Curaçao magic: a brass band, carnival dancers, a live band, a DJ, and fireworks.

It was the kind of wedding where you could feel the heartbeat of the couple in every detail—rooted in love, alive with culture, and impossible to forget.
