About the couple
After a night out, their friend Jenny decided she was done waiting for them to figure it out on their own. One morning, she told Bogdan that Jess wanted to grab brunch with him. Then she turned around and told Jess that Bogdan really wanted to grab brunch with her. Classic.
The funniest part? They could both hear her trying to set them up.
Brunch happened anyway — and from that moment on, the two of them have been a steady “us” ever since. Over the last eight years they’ve done what real couples do: shared friends, shared memories, and built something that holds up through the changes and the growing up.
And now they’ve taken the leap in the most Bogdan way possible: “We’ve invited all of our friends to a beautiful island to let them know we’re continuing on this journey together.

About the planning
Originally, they wanted to host the wedding at SAL the Kitchen. The space is beautiful, but once we got into the details, it became clear it wasn’t the smoothest fit for a full wedding day. Instead of forcing it, we kept SAL exactly where it shines: as their welcome dinner. A relaxed, stylish start to the weekend that set the tone without overcomplicating anything.
From there, we explored MOOD Beach for the wedding day. The setting had potential, but after months of inefficient communication from the events team, we made the call to pivot. And honestly? That decision saved the whole planning experience. We moved everything to Avila Beach Hotel, and the difference was immediate—more structure, more clarity, and a flow that actually let the couple (and their guests) enjoy the weekend.
One of Jessica & Bogdan’s non-negotiables was staying in one location at Avila for the entire wedding day. For guests, that meant no bouncing around, no stress, no “where do I need to be next?” For me, it meant solving a new kind of puzzle: a full room flip in one hour—ceremony to reception—while building the dance floor right where they had just said “I do.” It was one of those behind-the-scenes challenges that you only notice if it goes wrong… and when it goes right, it feels effortless. We repurposed areas, tightened transitions, and designed the space to move naturally from vows to cocktails to a full dance floor without anyone feeling the shift.
Design-wise, the couple wanted timeless and clean: white florals and lots of greenery. From there, we layered in the pieces that made it feel elevated and intentional—a modern asymmetrical arch, round tables arranged in a serpentine shape so the room felt dynamic and intimate, candlelight everywhere, and smaller centerpieces that kept the tables guest-friendly and warm rather than towering and formal.
They also brought in personal touches that grounded the whole day: a memory table, an interactive Polaroid station, and—maybe my favorite part of all—beach games that had everyone genuinely involved. Giant Jenga, cornhole, a photo scavenger hunt… the kind of playful energy that makes a wedding feel less like a production and more like a really good time with your favorite people.
And then, once the sun went down, they turned it all the way up—with some of the best fire dancers on the island. It was the perfect Curaçao moment: unexpected, high-energy, and the kind of entertainment guests talk about long after the wedding ends.
We wrapped the night the best way possible: an afterparty at Fènsi Curaçao. One last round, one more dance, and the perfect ending to a weekend that felt polished, easy, and completely them.

Review
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Gigi and the Caribbean Blue team. We hired her as our planner for our wedding in January, and she was incredible to work with from start to finish. She was always responsive and patiently answered every question we had along the way, no matter how big or small. Gigi’s attention to detail was second to none and you could really tell Gigi cared about making our vision come to life. She went out of her way to include a bunch of personal touches that made our wedding feel special and unique. The day of went off without a hitch. Gigi coordinated everything beautifully and let us actually enjoy our wedding. She is a true professional with a warm heart and I can’t recommend her enough.
